I’m not a fan of superhero movies, but the Marvel ones really captivated me, especially Captain America. I had enjoyed Avengers: Age of Ultron, but Captain America: Civil War surpassed all previous ones, in my opinion.
After a failed mission in Nigeria, governments and citizens are angry with the Avengers and want them to be held accountable for the deaths of innocents. Therefore, the United Nations wants them to sign an agreement in which they undertake not to act independently. One group, led by Captain America (Chris Evans) is opposed to the agreement, while the remainder, under the command of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), agrees with the document. Concurrently, a new threat makes the differences among the heroes becomes almost unbearable.
It was precisely this difference of opinions and ideological positions than I expecting in Batman v. Superman and that absence disappointed me. Civil War, however, has all the elements of a great action movie should have. The battle among the 12 heroes is amazing and full of humor too. The whole film, in fact, has a lighter tone than Batman vs. Superman, despite being equally long.
I will not mention all the characters, but the characters that I liked the most apart from the protagonists were, of course, Ant-Man (Paul Rudd, who has been sensational last year) and the new Spider-Man (Tom Holland). Marvel nailed it with the cast, which will make good sequels.
Anyway, yes this is a film worthy of the publicity “Team Captain America” and “Team Iron Man” and is worth being seen at the theater (for those who like this kind of movie, of course…)!
